Comforting

Seattle WA
August 11, 2013

One of the most comforting
things in days—

A thin, diaphanous
cloud, stretching out over
Lake Washington

Not impressive,
barely
even there,
more a suggestion of
covering
like
A
protective blanket,

An embrace by something transparent
barely visible
insubstantial,
Almost.

Sometimes protection
comes from unexpectedly
small things.

My prayers
unanswered
until this gauze of
vapour
this gauze of Love,
A cloak or shawl
or cape of Love
pulled gently over
Earth’s shoulders.

Such protection
from such an
unexpected place.

My fingers mildly burn
from cutting poblano peppers
The feeling of my Left hand
being
Alive
Grateful for
Life, the problems of
Life,
“Problems”
Such a strange and
funny word to me right now.

Protecting
beauty
seems the only reason to
Live right
now.
